Gone w/the Wind Fabulous at Full Figured Fashion Week 2014 Finale Show

I've never attended Full Figured Fashion Week's runway show before (well actually I attended Gwen Devoe's Full Figured & Fabulous Runway Competition years ago) but not the actual runway show.  The show has always been one that I have dreamed of attending and even one day walking in since the days of plus model/actress Mia Amber (God rest her soul).  I was first inspired by Gwen Devoe from Youtube videos of her speaking before one of her runways shows, I will never forget the words for her passion to create FFFW she said "EQUAL RUNWAY OPPORTUNITY." It was from that day that I became super inspired to try my hand at runway on a higher level like FFFW, before this I had never seen full figured models on the runway so it was super inspirational.  Even though I never did walk for FFFW, it never took away the feeling that "I can do anything I set my mind to."  I mean look at what Ms. Gwen and her team accomplished by creating FFFW....they did it!  They created "EQUAL RUNWAY OPPORTUNITY" and it doesn't stop there.

Alright back to this years' event.  I had finally gotten my ticket but I absolutely had nothing to wear and what I had originally planned on wearing never worked out.  I contacted a close friend of mines Designer Modest Monet and asked her if she could make me a long maxi dress with a high slit.  I showed her my design ideas and I thank God she ran with it.  Both of our schedules was jam packed that week so I didn't even have the time to go to the fabric store with her or anything like that, it was crazy!  So she designed and created my dress based on measurements I gave her over the phone, met me at work the following day on my lunch break for a fitting and told me how God worked it out for her because the she had ran out of the original fabric she planned on using but a friend contacted her that same day about some fabric she had left over from a previous design, so to God be the Glory that is how my "Gone with the Wind Fabulous" Dress for FFFW was born and I am ever so thankful to God & Chantel for hooking me up so that I may attend FFFW feeling beautiful and fabulous.  The night was dope and there was a surprise THANK YOU to Gwen Devoe from her team, tears were shed....it was def a celebration of her hard work and dedication and her going on to do greater things.

Here are some pics of my BEAUTIFUL dress.  Thanks Channy! Check out her new blog Modest Monet

Sean Anthony Designs Fall Look Book

I've been gone for a while but I plan on blogging more about my modeling journey.  June was a pretty cool month for me, I had the opportunity to model for Sean Anthony Designs here in Philly with Designer Lori Ruffin, Photographer Zakiyah Caldwell & Stylist Corrinn Lichet as well as fellow plus models, Barret, Annoula & Yve.   I love working with other models because its always a learning experience.

This was a great team of women with a serious vision for an incredible Fall Fashion Urban Elite Look Book! We shot during the week in Center City on a warm summer day and with the bold city inspired prints of SAD bomber jackets, we were definitely attracting attention and stopping traffic!  Lori definitely has something special here!  Check out some images from the Look Book below and don't forget to stop by Sean Anthony Designs Website and go support by Liking their Facebook here: SAD Facebook
